Sharon Powers, the author, currently divides her time between living in Southern California and Baja, Mexico. She has two grown children, two grandsons and a lovable dog named Mia. Besides writing, her time is filled with various hobbies, special projects and her family and friends.

Sharon started her career in accounting and worked as a controller for a manufacturing company. In 1997, she opened Pink Lava in La Jolla, CA, which was the sixth womens surf shop to open in the country.

Sharon began writing screenplays at the age of twenty-nine. Two of her screenplays have been optioned, she’s worked as a writer-for-hire and placed as a finalist in the America’s Best writing competition and was a 1st place winner in the 2015 Honolulu Film Awards for Best Screenplay. She’s currently working on a new novella and last year adapted her first screenplay into a book. "Seaspan" is a fantasy romance novella and not part of her MySeaBuddies children's series.

“Barney and Barry, The Hitchhikers” is her first book and is adapted from her original screenplay of the same name.  It’s a pilot for an animated children’s series and it placed as a Quarter-Finalist in the 2013 All Access Screenwriting Competition, a Finalist in the 2015 Amsterdam Film Festival Short Screenplay Competition, a Finalist in the 2015 Honolulu Films Awards Short Screenplay Competition, a Quarter-Finalist in the 19th Annual Fade In Awards Short Screenplay Competition and Honorable Mention in the 2016 Los Angeles Shorts Festival.
